This course provides an analytical survey of Soteriology, the study of salvation viewed through the lenses of history, philosophy, and sociology. Rather than exploring faith-based outcomes, the curriculum investigates how the concept of "deliverance" has been constructed and codified in human thought. Students will examine the logical structures behind various models of rescue, the historical context of their development, and the impact these ideologies have on social and individual behavior.

The course emphasizes the evolution of the "human problem" (such as mortality, alienation, or social disorder) and the diverse mechanisms proposed to resolve it.
